Lake Tahoe is known for it’s temperate summer days with abundant sunshine. It should come as no surprise that the summer months bring the greatest number of visitors to the Tahoe area of the entire year. In these few short months, sleepy communities and cities around the lake are abuzz with tourism. Often so busy that there are few to no room vacancies and event venues are reserved the year prior. If you are one of the diligent planners of the world and have all of your accommodations and plans secured, you are still certain to find endless waiting lines along with parking and traffic obstacles.
So many people think only of summer when planning, but there are real advantages to having a winter wedding or event in Lake Tahoe. Outside of having a winter wonderland as your backdrop and playground, there’s generally more flexibility and you can save a lot of money. In comparison to summer you can plan an event with minimal leadtime as the venues and vendors have more availability on their calendars. With less demand it is typical to find better rates and/or more room to negotiate your rates, in fact you could easily cut 10-20% off the price tag.
Although winter sports may not be for everyone those that are interested should know that there are more chairlifts in the Lake Tahoe area than in the entire state of Colorado.
For those less adventurous Lake Tahoe offers world class dining, entertainment, nightlife, gaming, sightseeing and more.
We at Blue Sky Events take pride in utilizing the beauty and activities each of the four seasons offer to produce spectacular events. Winter in particular in Lake Tahoe is a uniquely beautiful season to host an event. A few examples from our portfolio are:
